Sometimes, no matter how well prepared you are, the most unexpected things happen in one’s life. You can be very Christian and virtuous and bad things just happen.
I did all that was expected of me: went to college, worked hard to provide for my family, sent my children to the best schools, created what I thought was the perfect environment for all my loved ones, and it happened: I lost my wife several months ago. And now despite all that I have done and accumulated, I am alone. It is just God, me and a Red Labrador named Charlie.
So what do you do? After years of focus on family there was very little time for socializing and creating friendships. After the grief wears thin one can become sad and depressed or try to do something which would ease the pain.
So I don’t drink, smoke or womanize. How may one normalize what he once had and now is lost forever? If you are like me, there never was a bar scene, no bowling nights, and who wants to watch movie or sports reruns.
So against my better judgment, I finally subscribed to a dating website for widowers. Why? Basically safe and convenient.
A little about me: I am a college graduate of St. Josephs College, Rensselaer, IN, a veteran, and retired federal employee. My wife died a few months ago and I am once again alone and hoping to find a good woman like you to fill my life with joy and happiness.
